Rita Therese Lozon (Arseneau), a resident of Clinton Township, Michigan was called to her Heavenly home on January 5th, 2023 at the age of 79. She was born on June 12th, 1943 in Detroit, Michigan to the late Edmond Joseph Arseneau and Lillian Bernadette Arseneau (Bourdage). Baptized into the faith on June 22nd, 1943 at St. Joachim Rectory, Detroit, Michigan and confirmed September 10th, 1972 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, Clinton Township, Michigan, where she also enrolled her children. As a side note, Rita Therese was given her name after St. Rita and St. Therese.
She formed many close, life-long friendships and was active within the church and school. She was a member of the adult choir under Chuck Storck, served school lunches, and was always present for extracurricular activities. Faith and family meant so much to her. Rita often spoke about how blessed she was to have such loving, caring parents, a great childhood, and all the fun times with her French Canadian relatives.
Right out of Redford High School, she obtained her cosmetology license. This began a successful, rewarding career. Her business mindset led to the opening of her own salon, Imperial Comb by Rita, established 1969. Here, she developed strong relationships with her beauticians and clientele, which stayed with her for over 30 years.
Real estate was in her blood. She was raised in a family that bought, sold, and built many homes. She obtained her real estate license in 1983 and retired in 2015. Her diligent work ethics sparked the creation of Land & Lake Realty. Her drive, witty personality, and ever-present cheerfulness was special and unique. Embracing her fun-loving self, clients gravitated towards her. She was well known in the area and highly respected by colleagues.
Rita had a zest for life, a deep passion for family, and a joyful spirit. Rita embodied laughter and fun. Her legacy lives on through the ones she loved most. She enjoyed traveling and telling stories about her experiences. Some of her favorite vacations included Islamorada in the Florida Keys, several cruises, Italy, Spain, and Hawaii.
Her survivors include daughter Mishelle Marie Kasper (late Christopher Kasper), granddaughter Therese Kasper, daughter Christina Renee Askew, granddaughter Brianna Tiffany Askew, cousins, niece, and her late sister Mary Alice Vivier.
In-state visitation will be held on Wednesday, January 11, 2023 at 10 AM, until time of funeral service at 11 AM at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 21400 S Nunneley Road, Clinton Township, MI 48035. The family will have a luncheon in the church’s social hall following the service.
