Sandra E. Anson, 65, passed away in her home on Sunday, January 2, 2022. Sandi was born in Detroit, Michigan and was the daughter of Benjamin and Elaine Anson. She grew up in Eastpointe with her older brother, Benjamin. Her family spent many summer days enjoying their cottage in Lexington. Sandi went to East Detroit High School and graduated from Ross Business Institute with a certificate in computers and secretarial skills. Sandi worked at the F.W. Woolworth Company for 9 years. She then worked in Accounts Receivable at Central Transport until she retired in 2015.
Sandi was very devoted to her mother. They loved shopping at Macy’s, going to Frankenmuth, and having wonderful gatherings in their home with family and friends. When Sandi’s mom developed health complications, Sandi took care of her and devoted herself to her care. She was a wonderful daughter.
Sandi loved her family and friends. She loved spending time with her brother Ben, nephews Ben and Jason, niece Dawn and their families. She had many adventures with her cousins and best friends, Karen and Daniel. She had wonderful long-time friends that she enjoyed dining out with and visiting. Many laughs were had playing cards at the dining room table. A Christmas party wasn’t complete without a piñata or a hidden pickle on the tree. Sandi was famous for her legendary apple pie and took extreme pride in her beautiful home. She loved decorating her home for every holiday. Halloween was her favorite. She lived in her child home her entire life and was extremely happy there. She loved her dolls, sewing, crafts, and the movie Gone with the Wind. She was so thrilled to recently have dinner at the Whitney, go to Cliff Bell’s Jazz Club, and see the tree at Campus Martius. But most importantly, she loved her precious dogs, Bella and Sophie.
Just recently, Sandi became a Godmother to Samantha. She was so proud and honored to take on this important role. She would have been the best Godmother in the world.
Sandi had just started a new relationship and there was promise of much happiness. This wonderful woman was taken far too soon. She had so much love in her and life yet to live. Sandi will be forever loved and missed. She was an amazing daughter, sister, aunt, Godmother, and dear friend.
Sandi was the loving sister of Ben Anson; the devoted aunt of Dawn Fuller (Chad), Ben Anson Jr. (Margaret), and Jason Anson (Stacy); the caring great aunt of Chad and Zach Fuller, Tapanga Anson, and Bailey and Braylon Anson; the beloved cousin of Karen Moceri (Dan). Sandi was preceded in death by her parents Benjamin and Elaine Anson and her sister-in-law Nancy Anson.
A visitation for Sandra will be held Tuesday, January 11, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 8:00 pm at Resurrection Funeral Home, 40800 Hayes Road in Clinton Township. A funeral service will occur Wednesday, January 12, 2022 at 11:00 am at the funeral home. Friends may visit on Wednesday beginning at 10:00 am. Sandra will be laid to rest at Cadillac Memorial Gardens East in Clinton Township.
