Troy, I met you through my son that has been your roommate for the past year at the University. I heard so wonderful things about you. You were a very serious, committed and sweet young man... I am heartbroken... Keep flying high and free in Heaven... We miss you and you are in our hearts forever.

For the occasional times we have had the opportunity and privilege to share time with Troy, he proved to be an exceptional young man.  His energy, achievements, and ambitions are to be applauded.  Our sincere sympathy to the families who have lost this nice young man.

We will always remember the times you came to the house with your dad and rode dirt bikes with Scott. You were a great kid, who will be missed dearly. You were on your way to a great future. May you ride all the clouds in heaven.

Troy, you were an amazing cadet and you were a motivator for everybody you came in contact with. I will never forget the ROTC times and of course dining hall times we had.

I'll never forget meeting Troy in middle school, we were instant friends and he was such a great guy.  I'll never forget him.  It was truly an honor to know him.  May he and his family rest in peace.

Troy worked in our office his last year of high school.  He was so smart and had such a work ethic.   He was so excited about flying and going off to  college.   I just saw him on his Birthday which he shared with Jim.  We hugged an d talked about him going to the Naval Academy in the fall. 
We all need to hug our children just a little closer.

I had the pleasure of getting to know Troy on a deeper level when he became part of a small group I co-led in our youth group at Rockpointe. Such a remarkable young man!!! I am incredibly grateful for having known him and treasure all he shared.

A couple of years ago, Troy volunteered at the Rockpointe Church Porch Cafe....he was on the same team that I was.  His gentle spirit, shy smile, kindness, and excellent coffees are remembered.  We mourn with you, pray for you, and miss him....  Colleen

As the mother of a 19 year old son who also recently earned his private pilot license, I am heartbroken at the recent events that tragically took the lives of Troy and his family members. My son, like Troy, has always dreamed of flying and, like Troy, has dreamed of a career in aviation. On numerous occasions, my son flew the exact plane that Troy was flying at the time of the accident. Although I never met Troy or his family, please know that they are in my thoughts and prayers, as are those who are left grieving for their loss. Earning a private pilot license is a difficult task that few ever accomplish. Remember Troy with pride in that accomplishment and I pray that you can find some degree of comfort knowing that he passed doing something that he was passionate about. I am so very sorry for your loss.

Our family has know Troy, Sandy & Jim for years...My son played soccer with Troy...they were a wonderful family...it breaks our hearts...Our thoughts and prayers go out to the entire family.

Troy was a wonderful man who always knew how to brighten a room with either a smile, a funny face, or a combination of both. I cannot begin to imagine how tragic his passing must be for his surviving family and his friends. And even though he and I never spoke much, it still hurts to lose somebody whom I saw every day for the past four years. He will most definitely be missed.

GOD has a plan for each of us...We don't know what that plan is...What we do know is we must live life to the fullest everyday.Troy Brothers was a young man living life to the fullest with dreams, ambitions,and had his compass pointed in the right direction.Tragically, Troy  was taken from us way to soon only to live GOD'S plan and to look down upon us in peace knowing he is in a better place. We have known Troy and his Mother Sandy and Step Dad Jim for many years. Our thoughts and prayers are with the entire families. Troy will dearly be missed!

I did not know Troy or his family but he went to school with my son, a young pilot himself.  This tragedy has weighed heavy on my heart since I heard about it from my son on Friday.  This is a huge loss for your family and my prayers go out to you.

Our hearts are broken at the loss of our great friends, Jim and Sandy Haley, and Sandy's son, Troy Brothers.  We love you all so very much and miss you more than words can describe. When I came to college, Troy was the first person I got to meet and know.  I didn't know anyone since I am an out-of-state student.  Troy was an intelligent, mature, and remarkable human being.  Within weeks, we became friends and looked out for each other.  I remember him telling me that living in the dorms in college is just like a year-long summer camp.  And that it was.  I have great memories with him that I will keep with me forever.  As time went on, we formed a close group of friends in Henry Hall 3B.  I didn't expect people in college to be so friendly and nice.  When I was feeling down, Troy was there to talk and would always find a way to make me smile, like jumping up and down next to my bed when I had to get up for class.  I'll say it one more time for you;  its “Paris, Charles-De -Gaulle” =) Thank you for making my freshman year so amazing.  I miss you.

Troy, I will never forget you. Your good spirit in my car during activation is one that will stick with me forever. You put humor into difficult situations and that was transferred to all those who surrounded you. May your heart remain light and your wings strong. I'm keeping my radio station set on country in my car for you bud. Until we meet again.

Freshman year would not have been the same without you. You were a very motivating, outgoing, intelligent and funny person. It still does not feel real knowing your gone but I know your in a good place. I'll never forget you man.

We love and miss you troy. Finding out what happend was a tragic to all of us and left us all heartbroken. You had a succesful path ahead of you and were a strong and smart young man. You will never be forgotten and will always be in our hearts. Everytime i looked next door i always thanked for such wonderful neighbors you and your mom and step-dad were. You and your family were very helpful whenever we needed help and beyond way better friends then we could have asked for. Everytime we look next door now, thiers tears coming down our eyes. It was about 7 years ago when Troy first moved onto rambling drive in the house next door to mine , and we were both the same age. We instantly became friends during the summer and school was right around the corner , we kept saying that we hoped we would have the same teacher for 6th grade and luckily we did. We sat next to each other in class and played with each other on the play ground at recess and ate lunch together. We became the best of friends. We remained close friends for a while , playing sports outside when it was summer , to snowball fights during winter. After we graduated high school we didn't talk much because you went away to western but I always remember seeing you when you came home for the weekends and smiling and waving at you. It's gonna be terrible feeling not seeing you pull up on the weekends and not being able to give you that smile or wave . May your soul rest in peace  <3 ??

There are no words that can lessen the pain at this time of grief. Troy was a wonderful young man who made lots of friends and always followed his dreams.
