Wendell Joseph Bauer, of Clinton Twp., passed away on March 1, 2018, at 96 years of age. Beloved husband of Anna (nee Holzschuh) for 72 years; dear father of Dennis Bauer; proud grandfather of Sara Rymar(Michael) and Renee Heigel(Rob Scott) and great-grandfather of Emmanuel and Emma; brother to Nancy Dale; brother-in-law to Eilene Bauer; Wendell is also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Wendell was preceded in death by his parents, brother Frank M. Bauer, sister and brother in law Helen and Stanley Strzempek.
Wendell was born on January 4, 1922 to the late Wendell and Anna Bauer (Manz) in Detroit. He married Anna M Holzschuh on July 14, 1945 in Detroit, MI. Wendell was a WWII Veteran, proudly serving in the US Army. Starting in his teens, Wendell took a few lessons but mostly taught himself to play the accordion. For decades, he entertained countless people at weddings and dances.
The family will greet friends from 1:00pm until time of Sharing Service at 7:00pm on Sunday, March 4, 2018 at Kaul Funeral Home 35201 Garfield Rd., Clinton Twp., MI 48035.
Funeral services with military honors will be held at 11:00 am on Monday, March 5 , 2018 at Kaul Funeral Home, 35201 Garfield, Clinton Twp., Visitation on Monday from 10:00am until time of service at 11:00am.
