William "Bill" Charles Hanson, age 82, of Shelby Township, Michigan passed away on Saturday, April 19, 2025. Bill was born on December 27, 1942 in Chippewa Falls, Wisconsin to the late Norman and Gertrude Hanson.
Bill was an avid golfer who was rarely seen without a golf club in his hands, be it in the front yard, living room, or on the golf course. Some of his happiest times were playing golf with close friends and his nephew.
Being from Wisconsin, he grew up cheering for the Green Bay Packers. He had standing Lions and Packers $5 bets with his niece, Susie, from back home.
Among his many notable achievements were reading and studying the Bible cover-to-cover more than thirty times. He also made it his mission in life to help others and to put their needs first without being asked to do so. In short, he tried to model the life Jesus called him to live.
He was a good man, a loyal friend, a caring and devoted husband and father. He lovingly carried his family in his heart. He will be missed by all who knew him.
William is survived by his loving wife of 52 years, Linda; sons, Brett and Matthew; and Matthew’s fiancé, Melissa. He is also survived by five grandchildren, several great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews.
He is preceded in death by his parents, Norman and Gertrude; his daughter, Traci; and four brothers. He is also preceded in death by his mother-in-law, Lucy, and father-in-law, Melvin.
A visitation will be held on Tuesday, April 29, 2025 at 10am, with a funeral service at 11:30am, at Kaul Funeral Home - 35201 Garfield Rd, Clinton Twp, Michigan. Bill will be laid to rest following the services at Resurrection Cemetery in Clinton Twp.
