Barbara was born on June 23, 1934, in Omaha, Nebraska to John and Anna Fern Bolin. On April 27, 1951, she married her husband Dwaine. They were married for 47 years at the time of his death in 1998.
Barbara loved her church, Memorial United Methodist Church in Clovis, where she played the piano, participated in boutique, and was involved in many other church groups and activities. She also loved crocheting and music, and in her earlier years, she enjoyed camping and fishing with her sons.
She is survived by her 4 sons, David Nielsen, Steve Nielsen and his wife Pam, Dennis Nielsen and his wife Kathy, and Dan Nielsen, and her five grandchildren Jenna Mills, Brittany Avila, Elizabeth Nielsen, Justin Nielsen, and Aaron Nielsen.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dwaine Milton Nielsen, and son (Kenneth) Mark Nielsen.
