Sister, it seems like so long since we shared a laugh, a cup of coffee and a serious funny conversation, I miss visiting with you so much.  Your absence is felt by many of us, until we meet again, sister, love you, Shirley

I miss you everyday mom. You were our rock. The boys and I share stories about you. I still cannot believe you are gone. The house is so quiet without you. I’m doing my best to raise my boys and continue their path in which you lead. Please watch over them and be their guardian angel. They need you and so do I. I will continue to be the strong independent kind and loving person you raised me to be. At times I feel so alone because you are not here but I know you are in such a better place. I know you and Julian will take care of me and the boys. Please tell my brother Hi. You will be the 1st person I run to in heaven. I love you so much mom. 

So this is real and she’s gone my heart is broken in a million little pieces….. March 6th 2023 Betty Martínez aka Mz. Lady B will be greatly missed. Betty was one of the most amazing kind, funny,quick-witted, and gracious women I have ever known. Since the beginning of Jodie’s and my friendship Betty has always treated me like a daughter. She has been there for all my life’s events. When I was getting married she help hand pick the lace and pearls of my  dress. Went with me to to every fitting hand made all my center pieces party favors she was always there birth of my kids baptism,first communion’s.graduations,divorce, always the sound of reason. I have so much respect and gratitude for her. I loved her like a mother, So soul sisters it would be for Jodie and I. I loved to be around Betty and to visit her and just talk. Oh and all the stories when her and her sisters got together all the laughter was always so contagious. Betty was full of knowledge,life lesson, free advice and her honest opinion. That would sometimes lead to having a little Drinky poo. She was the mother to one of my best friends Jodi Lynn. Who I love and adore. Jodie thank you for sharing her with me. Jodie always know that I am here. I am truly honored to be apart of your family. To my beautiful Betty I promise you that I’ll be there for Jodie and the boys. I’m going miss you terribly think and speak of you often. God has gained another angel. Jodie Cameron and Gannon have gained a loving and protective guardian angle with a sense of humor so watch out. lol  Well I can only imagine heaven being amazing beautifully decorated since she arrived. Jodie and Betty helped me through some difficult times. Betty was my New Year’s Eve date one year when Jodie had other plans. Betty and I went to Table Mountain and had a fun New Year’s Eve together. They are my second family and I will miss her fun loving spirit! She is an Angel in heaven!! Love you Betty

My condolences and prayers to Betty’s family. She was a beautiful lady. We all loved her. I am the niece of Pete Martinez. My father George was his brother. Love Regina Martinez and family 

Betty will always hold a special place in our hearts. She was the mother to Julian, Mark, & Jodie. We have the most wonderful memories growing up together. We find peace in believing that when our dear aunty Betty crossed those pearly white gates, Julian was there to greet her. 

I was blessed to have Betty bring her 2 grandsons, Cameron and Gannon to my music program and entrust me to care for them. Betty loved her family fiercely. I always enjoyed our chats and enjoyed seeing her at music events after her boys moved beyond my program. 
Rest in Peace, Betty. Know that you left a strong legacy for your family and anyone you came in contact with.

My Sweet Aunty Betty

I don’t even know where to begin. My heart is so sad that she left us so quickly. My heart is so sad for my mama who loved her so very much. Every time I went to my mom and dad’s Aunt Betty was either there, chatting, eating, watching tv OR she was calling on the phone. To me Aunt Betty demonstrated beauty, class, intelligence and strength. She always looked so pretty with little makeup and carried herself with grace. We had conversations about her losing a child and I found so much strength in her faith and attitude. I can only imagine how happy she must be to see her baby again. I know my mama is going to have such a hard time and I promise to try to fill that gap of Aunty Betty’s loss. Thank you for taking care of my mama and bringing her so much laughter. Thank you for all of your advice on everything and also our friendship as well. I love you Aunt Betty. I will miss her so very much. Until we meet in heaven. . . 


Betty was a great mentor and a good friend!  She was a very classy lady!  I feel lucky that she called me friend!  She will make heaven even more beautiful!  Thanks for the memories my friend!

My most heartfelt sympathy to Betty’s family!  Betty was a very special lady, a classy lady, a good mentor and a great friend! She will forever live in my heart! When she retired she gifted me a small item she always had on her desk and I displayed it proudly in my desk till the day I retired! Thanks for the memories beautiful lady!

Betty was a very special lady to me and guided me thru my career with State service. It all started in 1990, when her sisters Debbie & Nancy gave me a job lead at the EDD office. Betty & Carolyn Carter hired me on the spot. Betty taught me so much & was an AWESOME manager, confidant & friend. Heaven gained an exquisite lady.  RIP Betty🙏❤

My condolences to the family on Betty's sudden passing. She was a beautiful person, inside and out. I worked with her at EDD for several years. She was an outstanding supervisor and manager. Her passing leaves a great void but she was met in Heaven by so many who love her and went before her.  She will always be remembered with great fondness.
