She was born on May 3, 1952, in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada, to John Ridgeway and Muriel Fergeson. Brenda was raised in Nova Scotia before moving to Pacifica, California in 1965 with her parents and her brother, Ron.
She graduated from Terra Nova High School in 1970, but had already begun starting her career at Bank of America in Linda Mar as a cash counter in 1969.
In May of 1972, Brenda married Dave Reynolds Jr., whom she had met during their junior high school years. Together, they built a life rooted in love and commitment.
In 1974, Brenda and Dave moved to Fresno, California, where she transferred to the Bank of America at Manchester Center. Through dedication and determination, she worked her way up to Assistant Vice President. She later continued her career as a Bank Manager at Sanwa.
In 1976, Brenda and Dave welcomed their daughter, Jennifer Lyn, who became the center of their world. As Jennifer grew up, Brenda and Dave became a second home to many of her friends, treating them like family.
After many successful years in banking, Brenda took a new path in 1996 when she and her husband, along with their close family friend Greg Shore, bought a pool hall. Originally named Rebco, it was later rebranded as Combo's, becoming what she was best remembered for.
Brenda was known for being giving and caring, with a personality that was funny, a little gullible at times, kind-hearted, and full of spitfire.
She enjoyed water skiing, tap dancing, playing pool, and gambling. Brenda found her greatest joy in spending time with her family and her friends from Combo’s.
She is survived by her daughter, Jennifer Lyn; her brother, Ron; her grandchildren, Jillian Olive and her husband Rhys, and her grandson, Dempsey Michael; as well as her great-granddaughter, Olive Ruth. She was preceded in death by her parents, John Peter and Muriel Georgina, and her beloved husband, David Michael Jr.
Brenda leaves behind a lifetime of memories filled with laughter, resilience, and love. She will be remembered most for her strong spirit and the way she brought people together. While we grieve her loss, we take comfort in knowing she is now at peace with the Lord. Her presence will always be felt, and her legacy will live on in all who knew and loved her.
