

Clifford Joseph Howe passed away in the loving arms of his family on Friday, March 8, 2013, succumbing to his fight with Alzheimer’s. He was born on March 11, 1942 in Porterville, along with his twin brother Clinton, to Joe and Bernice Howe. Clifford was raised in Fresno and graduated from Roosevelt High School in 1960, and married the love of his life, Sherry, in 1962.
After high school, Clifford joined the Air National Guard and entered the family business, Howe Electric, Inc. He worked as an electrical apprentice with IBEW and later took over the financial operations for the company. Clifford and his brother(s) continued to grow the business into one of the largest electrical construction firms in the industry.
Clifford was a generous person who had a passion for life and a love of people. He enjoyed camping, fishing, golfing, spending time with his family, and a good meal. In his earlier years he was an avid bowler, achieving nine sanctioned 300 games among numerous other bowling achievements. Clifford was an early riser and enjoyed mornings at sunrise. He enjoyed cooking, especially breakfast, and was known for his Specialty Spam and Egg Dish. Above all things, he cherished his family; he was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend.
Clifford was preceded in death by his parents Joe and Bernice Howe, his sister Jennie Danell, and grandson Joseph Maynard.
Clifford is survived by his wife, Sherry Howe; brothers, Tom and Clinton Howe; children, Todd Howe, Ty Howe, Tamara Maynard, and Teresa Howe; daughter in-law, Cari Howe; son in-law, Duane Maynard; ten grandchildren, Kirstin, Whitney, Miranda, Makayla, Sydney, Ramon, Madison, Mason, Alliyah and Angel; best friends, Ron and Joan Cox; along with many nieces and nephews.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, March 13, 2013, at Boice Funeral Home in Clovis from 2:00 pm to 7:00 pm.
Memorial service will be held at 10:00 am on Thursday, March 14, 2013, at Northpointe Community Church with graveside service immediately following at the Sanger Cemetery.
The family is asking, in lieu of flowers, that contributions be sent to the Alzheimer’s Association at 360 West Bedford #103, Fresno, CA 93711.
