Dennus Mark Peters was born on August 17, 1952. He spent his young years in Southern California; attended high school in Apple Valley, California; attended college at Victorville, California and at Panhandle State University in Goodwell, Oklahoma on a football scholarship and settled in Fresno in 1974 and lived outside of Sanger for the past 34 years.
He was a gifted athlete and star football player throughout his high school and college years.
He began working in the construction trade at an early age, is a General Contractor and General Engineer, and a Property Inspector and owner of ECI Property Inspection.
Dennus was adored by his family and friends, and all who knew him were affected by his big heart, sense of humor, and the extraordinary man that he was. He was an avid fisherman and golfer, loved the mountains and beach, and his family meant everything to him.
Dennus is survived by his wife of 52 years, Sharon Peters; his daughter Jamie Ahart and son-in-law Matt Ahart; his three beautiful granddaughters Sierra Ahart, Sydney Ahart and Skylar Ahart to cherish his memory; his sister Susan Cooper of Kansas, his sister Linda Peters Dinuba, California, his sister Judy Peters of Texas, his sister Pamela Ryan and brother-in-law Jeff Ryan of Manteca, California, his sister Cynthia Peters of Merced, California, his step brother Ricardo Cruz of Fresno, California, his step brother Javier Cruz of the Bay Area and Reedley, California and his step brother Ray Cruz of the Bay Area in California.
Dennus also leaves behind numerous nephews and nieces to cherish his memory.
Dennus was preceded in death by his father Roger Peters; his daughter Janet Peters and his brother Alfredo (Fred) Peters.
