Born on November 3, 1963, in Riverside, California, Eric moved to Fresno at the age of two and remained a proud member of the community for the rest of his life. A graduate of Hoover High School, he continued his education by attending automotive classes at Reedley College before following his family’s tradition and earning his General Contractor’s License, which he utilized professionally for 41 years. Eric began his career as a framer and quickly advanced to become a respected residential home development project manager, contributing his expertise to some of the most recognizable homebuilders in the Central Valley.
Beyond his professional achievements, Eric was a true outdoor enthusiast who found joy in hunting and fishing. He cherished every opportunity to share his love for the wild with his daughters and grandchildren, teaching them the art of outdoor life. Whether catching trout in Dinky Creek and Shaver Lake or tracking wild boar in the Sierra Nevada foothills and mule deer in Wyoming, Eric was at his happiest in nature. His passion extended to his love of bird dogs, particularly Labradors, which he raised and trained for hunting everything from dove to pheasant, chukar, and ducks.
Eric is survived by his loving wife, Guadalupe Vazquez Rangel; his daughters, Amanda Shoffner (husband Joe and their two children), Erika Diredo (husband Justin and their three children), and Katrina Manjares (husband Jose and their six children); and their mother, Sandi Lozito. He is also survived by his mother, Beverly Capps; his brother, Todd Le Corre; and his sister, Shelley Cassidy. Eric was a beloved friend and neighbor, leaving behind a close-knit community that will miss him dearly
Eric’s legacy lives on through the homes he helped build, the wisdom he passed down to his family, and the countless memories shared in the great outdoors. He will be remembered in his community for always being available for garage talks, his work ethic, and his love for the outdoors. A small celebration of life will be held for close family and friends at his mother Beverly’s house and invitations will be sent soon. If you would like to reach out to the family, please contact Beverly, Shelley or Katrina.
