Joyce attended high school in Chadron, Nebraska and graduated from Selma High School after which she attended Fresno State College, graduating in 1957. She worked as a clinical laboratory scientist at a local hospital until she retired.
Joyce is survived by her sister-in-law Darlene Nance and her foster sister Virginia Lomeli (Abe); her niece Cheryl Sjoberg (Ernest) and her niece Gail Cleveland. She is also survived by cousins, nephews and many great nieces and nephews.
She is preceded in death by her husband Robert Hourigan, sister Lila Chick, brother Maurice Gordon, many cousins and two beloved sisters-in-law and a brother-in-law.
A memorial service for Joyce will be held Wednesday, August 16, 2023 at 11:00 AM at Clovis Pentecostal Church of God, 395 North Peach Avenue, Clovis, CA.
