Morris Lee Reid, 85, a resident of Fresno, California, passed away on March 1, 2026. Born December 19, 1940, Morris departed peacefully surrounded by his family. His broken heart is healed now that he is reunited with his loving wife, Diana Reid, and their eldest daughter, Cheryl Reid, among many other loved ones who have passed on.
Morris was a beloved member of the Picayune Rancheria and a member of the IBEW Union for 40 years. He worked on the Alaska Pipeline and also served as an electrician with the City of Fresno. Morris was a huge Dodger fan, and he enjoyed traveling and visiting the casinos. He also tried his hand at basket weaving, and a photo of his modest basket made it to the National Museum of the American Indian at the Smithsonian in Washington, DC. Morris gave generously—especially to children—making sure they had shoes and necessary supplies to have a solid start to their school year; in turn, the children gained pride, attendance improved, and the dropout rate decreased.
His legacy of compassion and strength will always be remembered.
Morris is survived by his son, Morris Lee Reid, Jr.; his daughter, Michelle Reid; his sister, Elizabeth Reid; his brother, Richard Reid; and two grandchildren and two great grandchildren Jonathan Reid, Morgan Reid, Elijah Castillo, and Zadrian Reid, survive to carry on his memory.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Orville and Frona Reid; his wife, Diana Reid; his daughter, Cheryl Reid; his brother, Orville Reid; his brother, Malcom Reid; his sister, Elaine Etner; and his sister, Paulette Clark.
Visitation will be held at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, on Monday, March 9, 2026, from 3:00 pm to 7:00 pm. Military Honors will be rendered at 5:00 PM.
