He was a beloved Husband, Father, Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and Friend. He was one of four boys; John, Jerry, and twin brother Donny, born to Earl and Thelma Nowell. He attended Fresno High School and graduated as the Class of 1957. After that, he went to CSU Fresno and achieved a BA in Science. He then went to work for the railroad as a brakeman and paid his way through Dental School at the University of Pacific, San Francisco. He received his Doctorate of Dental Surgery degree in 1970. He returned to Fresno and established a successful practice which he enjoyed for 48 years.
Ron was an avid fisherman, hunter, reader, Dentist, and traveler. He relished in the outdoors and loved sharing it with family and friends. His family was his number one priority and he built a wonderful family that loves him dearly. Although he was a prankster and jokester, he really had a huge heart that he shared with many and he never failed to leave a lasting impression on those he met.
Ron is preceded in death by his mother, Thelma Claudia Nowell; his father Earl William Nowell; his brothers John Earl Nowell, Jerry Nowell, and twin Donald Joseph Nowell; and his grandson Caleb Gabriel Colson.
Ron is survived by his wife, Lynne Nowell; his son Christopher Ramage; his daughter Tiffany Palmer; his son Ronny Nowell; his daughter Janine Colson; and his son-in-law Todd Colson; his grandson Christopher Ryan Ramage, his granddaughter Taylor Ramage, his granddaughter Katelyn Nowell, his grandson Blake Palmer, his granddaughter Makaila Nowell, his grandson Hunter Palmer, his grandson Zach Palmer, his granddaughter Kara Nowell, his granddaughter Emry Colson, his granddaughter Reese Colson and his granddaughter Adalee Colson.
A Visitation for Ron will be held Thursday, January 12, 2023 from 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Boice Funeral Home, 308 Pollasky Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
A Committal Service will occur Friday, January 13, 2023 at 10:00 a.m. at Clovis Cemetery, 305 North Villa Avenue, Clovis, California 93612.
A Celebration of Life will occur Friday, January 13, 2023 at 11:00 a.m. at New Hope Community Church, 4620 East Nees Avenue, Clovis, California 93611.
Serving as Honorary Pallbearers are John Hendricksen, Bob Ryan, Ronny Nowell, Todd Colson, Blake Palmer, Hunter Palmer and Zachary Palmer.
