Sharon was a devoted wife, loving mother, grandmother and new great-grandmother. She lived for family and friends.
Sharon grew up in Fresno. Met the love of her life, David Murphy, roller skating. Graduated from Sanger High School and married David shortly thereafter. David's work eventually led them to settle in South San Francisco where they raised their four kids. Sharon was a homemaker until her youngest entered school when she took a position as a Market Research Recruiter. After retirement in 1999, David and Sharon decided to settle back to their roots in the Central Valley, in particular Clovis, CA.
Sharon loved the San Francisco Giants, gardening, birds (specially chasing geese until one caught that she could nuzzle), and any dog she could get her hands on. Could be family: Austin, Ozzy Bear, Kiera, Lily, Kodi, Zues, Crawford, Brenly; or any pooch in the neighborhood. But what she really loved was getting together with family to eat, drink and be merry.
Sharon is survived by her two sons: Michael L. Murphy and wife Helen of Tracy, CA, Donald E. Murphy and wife Liz of Clovis, CA. Two daughters: Erin K. Girimonte and husband Mike of Clovis, CA, Shannon E. Murphy-Holcomb and husband Doug of Roseville, CA. She leaves 11 grandchildren: Sean, Alec, Laura, Brennan, Emily, Amber, Anthony, Ryan, Braden, Ethan, and Dustin along with her new great-grandson Otto. Dear cousin (but more of a sister) Velma Hale.
Sharon was preceded in death by her husband David Murphy. Her parents Arthur and Blanche Yager, and sister Susan Yager.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2025; 11:00am at New Hope Community Church. 4620 Nees Avenue, Clovis, CA 93611.
