Edelmina "Eddie" Covarrubias Sifuentes September 10, 1943 | November 17, 2020 Following a heroic four-year bout with stage IV cancer of the liver, at long last Mother can rest in peace.
She seldomly complained about this sentence but accepted it and always moved forward – even during the times her body would not physically allow. Cirrhosis of the liver has plagued her for the past 20 years and since then a myriad of other maladies that come with age emerged. So, she took particular delight watching the facial expressions of people (mostly healthcare professionals) as they learned just how physically sick she was. “You had no idea I have so many problems.” Is something that she would say as she began describing her latest ailment.
Remaining strong in her Catholic faith and belief and love of her family powered her through some of the darker days. Mom celebrated her 77th birthday in September and 56 years of marriage to Phil Sifuentes on November 8th. Thank you for all the roles you took on that touched the lives of so many people! You will be forever missed. Until we meet again, rest in peace.
