He was born in Waco, Texas, Sept. 27, 1925, to the late Frank White Moran, Sr. and Mattie Bell Moran. Frank graduated from La Feria High School and received a bachelor’s degree in Petroleum Engineering from The University of Texas in 1950. He worked for the Gulf Oil Corporation for 35 years. He was married to the late Mary Jane Porter Moran from 1944 to 2007. In 2008 Frank married Donna Larson Moran. Frank had three sons, Mark Moran, the late Chris Moran, and the late Bruce Moran. Frank has two grandchildren and six great grandchildren all residing in the Austin area.
Frank was a US Marine in WW2 and served in the Pacific. Frank was a standout athlete in La Feria in the late 1930’s and 40’s. He excelled in basketball, track, football and baseball. After college, golf became a new passion for him.
His favorite Bible verse was Mark 1:15; “The kingdom of God has come near. Repent and believe the Good News”. Burial will be in the family plot in Restwood Memorial Cemetery in Clute, Texas.
