

James Henry Moss, of Lake Jackson, was born, Sunday, June 20, 1926 in Arcadia, Louisiana to Harry and Annie Lou Scott Moss and died, Saturday, April 2, 2011 in Clute, Texas at the age of 84 years, 9 months and 12 days. James was a very loving and caring father and husband. He enjoyed his family time, especially the holidays of Thanksgiving and Christmas. He had a special relationship with his granddaughter, Lynsy, whom he was very close too. He had built a doll house for her that would be any girls dream. While she was growing up, he never missed her functions. When his boys were younger, he was away much of the time, working multiple jobs. He always made sure her provided for and met the needs of his family. When he was home he was involved in the boy’s activities and functions. He helped with baseball, helped Jimmy with boxing and helped Billy get a good job where he worked at Nalco Chemical Company. James was a veteran of the United States Army Air Corp, serving during World War II. He was the recipient of the American Theater Campaign Ribbon, Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Ribbon, Philippine Independence Ribbon, Victory Ribbon, 1 Overseas Service Bar and a Good Conduct Medal. He is preceded in death by parents and his wife of 61 years, Evie Moss. He is survived by his sons, Billy Joe Moss and his wife Anita of Carthage, Mississippi, Jimmy Lee Moss and his wife Kathy of Alvin, Texas, Clyde Douglas Moss and his wife Kandra of Lake Jackson, Texas; brother, Bobby Moss of Oklahoma; sister, Lucille Rood and her husband Bart of Florida; 3 grandchildren, Lorie, Lynsy and Zephry and 6 great grandchildren. Family will receive friends for visitation Wednesday, April 6, 2011, from 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Restwood Funeral Home. Funeral services will be at 3:00 pm Thursday, April 7, 2011 at the Restwood Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Greg Pickering officiating.
