Jeraldine’s life was rooted in faith and devotion. She lived each day praising and worshipping God, and she found deep purpose in raising her family. Her love for God, family and church shaped the steady, caring presence she offered to those around her, and she hoped others would carry forward what she practiced so faithfully: love and care of family and helping those in need.
On June 30, 1969, Jeraldine married Joseph H. DuBois Jr. Together they built a family that remained the center of her joy. Her proudest moments were the births of her children, and she found continuing happiness in her children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren.
Jeraldine’s quiet joys reflected a life of reverence and gratitude—reading the bible, listening to praise and worship, and cross stitching. “Amazing Grace” held a special place among her favorite songs, and blue was her favorite color.
She also served her church with dedication as a founding member and church secretary of Believers in Christ Fellowship in Smithville, TX, offering her time and care in support of the congregation and its work.
Jeraldine is survived by her husband, Joseph H. DuBois Jr.; her three children and their spouses, Monique White and husband Dale, Christopher DuBois and wife Julisa, and Tania DuBois; seven grandchildren and their spouses, William Taylor and wife Lycrecia, Gloria DuBois, Randy Simmons, Makayla Mumme and husband Johnny, Kristina Kleibert and husband Kody, Lukas Taylor and wife Susan, and Holly Shaw and husband Tyler; and 13 great grandchildren, Logan, Levi, Faye, June, William III, Dallas, Hayden, Kye, Kruz, Kreed, Caspian, Tobias and Travis.
She was preceded in death by her father, Orville Adkins; her mother, Wanda Mae (Stone) Adkins; and her sister, Pamela Kaye Gann.
Jeraldine will be remembered as a loving and caring person—one whose faith, devotion to family, and willingness to help others left a lasting imprint on all who knew her.
