

Arrangements under the direction of Restwood Funeral Home & Memorial Park, Clute, Texas.Virginia Joy Petry Wroth Senturia, 84, from Lake Jackson, Texas passed away on December 26, 2014 in Houston. She was born in Sample, TX to Harvey and Myrta Sample Petry, and was a loving sister to Harvey Claude Petry and Barbara Jean Petry Hinze, who all preceded her in death. She grew up in Corpus Christi, where she met and married her Navy pilot, William Fabyan Wroth on August 5, 1950. They were married 30 years until his passing in January 1981. She earned an Associate of Arts Degree from Del Mar College Corpus Christi, but chose instead to raise her four children. In 1986 she married Harvey Senturia, until his passing in 2007. She is survived by Susan Virginia Wroth Leigh (Stephen), Deborah Lynn Wroth Ginn (Norman), Priscilla Ann Wroth Borchardt (David), and John Stewart Wroth. She adored her six grandchildren, often quoting a saying, “If I’d known how much fun grandchildren were, I’d have had them first!” They are, Travis Ginn, Valerie Ginn McEwin, Robert Carpenter, Max Borchardt, Andrew Wroth and Kimberly Wroth. She was also recently blessed with twin great-grandsons, Nathan Kyle and Elliott James McEwin.
Joy was very active in the First Baptist Church of Lake Jackson, TX, where she also taught Sunday school. She was a member of The Daughters of the Republic of Texas, and was the chaplain of the Ft. Velasco Chapter of the Daughters of the American Revolution. She loved dancing and was a member of the Lake Jackson Promenaders. She was a Girl Scout leader and Cub Scout den mother.
Services will be at the Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, TX on December 30, 2014. Visitation 11:00 am, Service 1:00 pm.
Pall bearers are sons-in-law Stephen Leigh, Norman Ginn, and David Borchardt, and grandsons Travis Ginn, Robert Carpenter, Andrew Wroth, and Max Borchardt.
