Lavenia Viola Cagle

Lavenia Viola Cagle, of Freeport, Texas; passed away at the age of 91, at Kinder Wound Center in Clear Lake, Texas. Lavenia was born on November 21, 1927 in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania to Victor and Alta Householder Myers. Thomas Ellis Cagle and Lavenia Myers were married in Pearl River County, Mississippi on May 21, 1954. The couple moved to Freeport in 1959 and resided on West 8th Street.

Thomas and Lavenia shared the love of Little League and soccer for many young boys. In Freeport, where they raised their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was a loving mother and grandmother. She has lived the last 10 years with her grandson Lonnie Cagle, Jr. and Theresa.

She is preceded in death by her parents and seven siblings, husband, Thomas Ellis Cagle; her daughter, Wanda Stinnett; son, David Stinnett; and grandchildren, Ellis Harlen and Gerald Milligan.

She is survived by her son Lonnie Cagle, Sr. and his wife Yvonne Cagle; daughter in law Donna Stinnett, David's children are Jennifer Stinnett, Patrick and Dana Stinnett, Liam and Clair, and David Paul and Jenny Stinnett, and their children, Conner and Daniel. Donna’s children are Kelly and Marylin Pittman and their children, Kendall and Laken. Keyshawn and Molly and their children; Kutler and Myra and Maisie Pittman and Kevin Pittman; Grandchild, Geri (Kevin) Benfield; Great-grandchildren, Aaron and Benjamin Benfield and his children, Tanner and Laiklyn. Grandchild, Stan (Sarah) Grooms; Great-grandchildren; Hannah, Chase, Blake, and Noah; Grandchildren, Rhonda Cagle, Lonnie (Theresa) Cagle, Jr., Tommy (Chris) Cagle, Jana (Doug) Watkins, Jimmy (Teresa) Cagle, Shonda Stinnett and David Vanwagner; great grandchildren Weldon & Michelle Giles, Jesse Harlen, Jessica Milligan, Kaitlyn Watkins, Ashton Watkins, Doug Watkins, Jr., Shalia Cagle, Kayla Cagle, Cheyenne Stinnett, Davidchad Allman, Elizabeth (Layen) Toler; Great grandchildren Courtney Giles, Whitney Giles, Jaiden Giles, Weldon Giles, Jr., Jeremiah Giles, Avoilyn Cagle, and Ellis Cagle, Jr.

A Gathering to Celebrate the Life of Lavenia will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2019 from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. at Restwood Funeral Home in Clute, TX. The Celebration of Life service will begin immediately following the gathering. The burial will be held at Restwood Memorial Park immediately following the Celebration of Life service.

Serving as pallbearers are: Jesse Harlen, Weldon Giles, Charles Cagle, Ed Freking, Allen Dickey, Tommy Cagle, and Al Lopez.
