TX. Lupe grew up on the Green Dixon Farm in Shiner, Texas where his parents were share-croppers. Hard work was a big part of his life as he picked corn and cotton alongside his parents and brothers. His education started at Green Dixon School and graduated from Shiner High School where he lettered in baseball playing centerfield as well as pitcher.
After graduation, he worked for TexTan Leather Company and moved to Freeport, TX. In 1966, Lupe went on to work for Dependable Motor Parts as the manager and retired from Napa Auto Parts after 47 years of service. In those 47 years, he touched many lives. He was a mentor, coach, and a “cool boss” said many of his former employees. Lupe enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, spending time with family, and playing slow pitch softball for St. Mary’s Star of the Sea Church League. I'm sure his friends have a bat waiting for him with his name on it.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Mercedes Trevino; brothers, Rudy Trevino (Maria), Lorenzo Trevino Jr. (Mary) and Johnny Trevino (Diana); his children Cheryl McCaffety (Josh), Stephen Trevino (Veronica) and Marcelo J. Cordoba; and numerous grandchildren and great grandchildren who will cherish their memories with him. Preceding Lupe in death were his parents Lorenzo C. Trevino and Concepcion M. Trevino.
Pallbearers will be Alex Trevino, Jayden Flores, Marcos Trevino, Michael Cooper, Jeff Salazar, and Julian Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Butch Gentry and the Napa Crew and Daniel Ortiz Sr.
