Virginia De La Cruz, age 59, passed away Wednesday February 10, 2010 in Lake Jackson. Virginia courageously battled numerous health problems during her life, including over 15 years of dialysis, yet kept an optimistic outlook on life. One of her proudest accomplishments was fighting to gain custody of her youngest brothers, Victor and Johnny, whom she then raised from adolescence. She was a member of “Late Starters” bowling league and loved children and animals. She is survived by husband, Mark Guess of Lake Jackson; friends of 33 years, Margie and Carlos Bosquez of Angleton,TX, brothers: Roy Rodriguez of Phoenix, AZ, Adam Tarrango of Phoeniz, AZ, Fred Nunez of Eloy, AZ, Victor Rodriguez of Houston, TX, Johnny Romero of Angleton, TX; sisters: Christina Vasquez and Barbara Alvarez. Funeral services to be conducted 2p.m. Saturday February 13, 2010 at Restwood Funeral Home. Visitation with the family 5-7p.m. Friday February 12, 2010.
