Alfred "Al" A. Miller, 90, of Merritt Island, FL passed away on October 23, 2018. He was born in Poughkeepsie, NY. Came to Merritt Island in 1990 after he retired from Central Hudson Gas & Electric in NY. Al was a Veteran of the US Army and served 1950-1952 during the Korean War in Germany.
Al is preceded in death by his wife Concetta DeQuarto Miller of almost 50 years. He is survived by his daughter Josephine Miller of Merritt Island; grandchildren Alex Slaiman and Concetta LaShier both of Merritt Island; sister Dolores Armstrong of Poughkeepsie, NY; nieces SueAnn Armstrong, Marion Hidewein, and Patty Sacerdote all of Poughkeepsie, NY; nephew Edward Armstrong of Poughkeepsie, NY; 6 great nieces, and 1 great nephew.
Al loved his local Merritt Island Moose Lodge where he was a member for 9 years. He enjoyed shuffleboard tournaments every Saturday and Friday night dances. If you wanted to find him, he always sat in chair 28 and had a smile and wave for everyone. His life also revolved around his 2 grandchildren and every event they had.
A Celebration of Life will be held at The Merritt Island Moose Lodge, 3150 N. Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, FL on Monday, November 5, 2018 at 12:30 pm.
The family asks that any donations be made to either Moose Charities or The Brevard Alzheimer's Foundation in his name.
