

The world just lost one of their angels here on earth after 92 years, she is now in Heaven with GOD, JESUS and all her loved ones that went before her.
She was born in Maryville, Tennessee on July 5, 1925. She was 92 at the time of her passing. She passed away in The Wilson Place in Cocoa Beach, Florida on Wilson Avenue.
Dorotha A Hughes passed away quietly with family and loved ones around her. She will be missed by everyone who loved her and had ever met her, for she never met a stranger. She was a very warm hearted lady with a large loving heart. She always put her family first and would help anyone that she could. She had been married to Maynard S. Hughes for 66 years when he passed away in 2008. He and her family were her whole life and she was very proud of them.
She was preceded by her husband Maynard S. Hughes, mother Nola Jenkins Myers Headrick, father Williams B. Myers, step-father Howell Headrick, brothers Kenneth (and wife Margaret) Myers, Franklin Leroy (and wife Doris) Myers, and Ray (and wife Mattie) Myers.
She left a son Maynard Ronald "Ronnie" (and wife Dixie) Hughes, daughter Sandra Irene Hughes and a brother Richard "Dickie" Headrick behind to one day see in Heaven. She also left behind many loved nieces and nephews, great nieces and nephews and cousins to one day see again in Heaven.
She never worked until later in life. She worked several years at the Woolworth's in Bird Plaza in Cocoa. She volunteered with the county to check children's eyes in the schools in the area. Her main work was to take care of her family and many friends.
There are more Angels at The Wilson Place, Wilson Avenue, Cocoa Beach, Florida. The took wonderful and loving care of her for several years. She loved them like family. She also had some more angels from St. Francis Hospice of Titusville, Florida who took great care of her.
Visitors will be received at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home (5475 N. U.S. Highway #1, Cocoa, Florida 32927) on Thursday, February 8, 2018 from 10 to 11AM. A Celebration of Dot's life will follow at 11 AM. Interment will take place at Brevard Memorial Park.
In lieu of flowers, a donation to the American Cancer Society of Sunflower House (Merritt Island) would be greatly appreciated.
