

Frank Wesley Howald, 85, went to be with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, Sunday, Nov. 10, 2019. He is survived by his wife of 66 years Martha (Griffiths) Howald; his son, Brad Howald (Bryn), his daughters Betsy DeLettre, and Amy Welch (Ken); 10 Grandchildren and 10 Great Grandchildren; Sisters – Margaret Heimlich, Marilyn (Bob) Ludwig, Bertie (Vic) Rice; Brothers – Don (Nancy) Howald, and Charlie (Pat) Howald. He was predeceased by his parents Robert and Bernice Howald and granddaughter, Megan DeLettre.
Frank was born and raised in Waldo, Ohio and served in the US Army from 1955 – 1957. He sold his farm in 1963 and moved his family to Cocoa, FL. In 1984 he relocated to Merritt Island, FL, and in 2003 he retired to Jacksonville, FL. In Ohio, Frank worked on his family farm. In 1965, after moving to Cocoa he became an electrician for Holloway Corp. and eventually became part owner and head of operations. During his employment, he worked on many government projects at Kennedy Space Center. He opened an office for Mil-Con in 1988 and continued estimating government projects. He retired as Sr. Exec. V.P. in 2003. He continued to work helping other companies in Jacksonville until 2014. His hobby of woodworking kept him busy for several more years. Frank was also a lay minister of music with Martha playing piano by his side for over 25 years during most of his working career.
Frank was a born again Christian and his love for the Lord guided his life to be a godly example as husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather! He loved his family and friends and wanted to share his faith in God to everyone he met! God used him and his legacy to impact many people throughout his life. He was respected by all for his honesty, integrity and love of life. He will be dearly missed by all who knew him. In lieu of flowers donation to Samaritan’s Purse would be greatly appreciated.
