Jim served his Country during WWII in which he received two Bronze Stars. He was an Instrumentation Engineer for the F-100 Fighter Jet and spent time developing weapons aboard nuclear submarines.
A long-time resident of Brevard County, Jim joined the Space Center beginning with the Mercury program. He retired from NASA in the 1980’s and became an active member of his community. In retirement, Jim could often be seen inside the garage “tinkering” with anything mechanical, most often for a friend or family member.
Music was a life-long joy to Jim. He was a member of the Society for the Preservation and Encouragement of Barber Shop Quartet Singing in America. For years, Jim was called upon to play organ and sing with his local church. He also played drums with a band, frequently playing on our local riverboats.
James is survived by three sons: James Grover, Jr. (Kathi), David Grover (Susan), and Robert Grover (Penni), all reside in Ohio; nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
A visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2015 from 3-4PM with a service to start at 4PM at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home.
