
Passed away at home at the age of 91. He was predeceased by his wife of 32 years, Carolyn, who passed away in 1992, mother Cecile Quackenbush and brother Larry DeMarco. Jack will be remembered as a dear father to Barbara Foster (Delmar) of Mims, MaryLynn Murray of Palm Beach Gardens, John T. DeMarco Jr. (Jane) of Pompano Beach, and Dorothy Modesti of Pompano Beach. Jack was Pop Pop to grandchildren Nick Foster (Alisha), Chelsey Nossem (Lukas), Patrick Murray, Rebecca Glenn (Nathan), Cameron Foster (Sarah), Nina Murray, Alex DeMarco, Bianca Modesti, Juliana DeMarco, Regina Modesti, and Enzo Modesti; and great grandchildren Ashlyn Foster, Emmalyn Foster, Gracelyn Foster, Carolyn Glenn, Eleanor Glenn, Josiah Foster, and Ronald Nossem. He is also survived by a sister Marjorie Conway and many nieces and nephews.
Jack grew up in Atlantic Highlands and attended grammar school at St. James Catholic, Rumson High School where he played basketball, Atlantic Highlands High School, and later in life attended Rutgers University, all in NJ. He was called to serve in the U.S. Army from 1953 to 1955 where he achieved the rank of Sergeant E5 and served in the U.S. Army Reserves from 1955-1961. Served as Vice Commander for the American Legion Post 143 Highlands, NJ, 1958, in the U.S. Coast Guard Auxiliary, and as a Volunteer Firefighter, Eatontown, NJ, 1960-1967. He was a General Manager for Ebsco Industries in Red Bank, NJ, from 1968 until he retired in 1987.
Jack enjoyed spending time with his family. He played golf and tennis until he was 80 and spent the years after crafting many woodworking projects as well as working on his 1963 Ford Thunderbird and attending car shows.
Family and close friends will be received at Wylie Baxley Funeral Home, 1360 North Courtenay Parkway, Merritt Island, FL 32953, on Saturday, September 14, 2024, from 11 to 12 p.m. for a service honoring his life. Private burial will be at Brevard Memorial Funeral Home and Park, 320 Spring St. Cocoa, FL. 32927.
