Mary Carolyn Barnewall, beloved wife, sister, aunt and stepmom, went to be with her Lord in heaven Tuesday, November 26, 2019. She will be greeted there by her parents, Harry and Marcella, and her loving husband, Fred.
Her family remaining who love and miss her include brothers Henry Vaske, Kenny Vaske, Herb Vaske (Dorothy), Bernie Vaske (Eve) and Ray Vaske; sisters Ruth Wilson (Ron), Cecilia Bramley (Don), Ann Vaske (Julio Figueroa) and Noreen Seiter (Scott); stepson Ken Barnewall (Theresa); 2 grandchildren; 36 nieces and nephews; 66 grand nieces and nephews; 6 great grand nieces and nephews.
Carol was born in Lockland, Ohio, the first born into a family of ten children. At age of 11 she moved to Kentucky. After growing up on a farm, she set out on her own and moved to Miami Florida in 1978. A strong and independent woman, she made a living working in the food industry. She was able to provide for herself, including purchasing a home. Carol enjoyed celebrations and meeting new friends. In 1980, Carol met the love of her Life, Fred. Their marriage was 23 years of love, laughs and faith. Together they made the best of times and set an example for others to follow.
She was an active member of Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church where she made many dear friends and regularly served her church family in a variety of roles.
Carol enjoyed cooking and entertaining, puzzles and spending time with family and friends. The highlight of her year was her annual trip to visit her siblings in the Greater Cincinnati area. Many special occasions were shared with her stepson Ken, Theresa and grandsons Chris and Joe; niece Ramona, Jay and great nephew Gage; sister Annie, Julio and niece Jill.
Carol will be deeply missed by all who know and love her. Her smile will never be forgotten. She leaves a legacy of kindness, love and faith.
In lieu of flowers the family is requesting donations be made In Carol’s name to Hospice of St. Francis, Titusville, or Blessed Sacrament Catholic Church of Cocoa.
