Born on June 18, 1953 in Kalamazoo, Michigan. His family moved to Cocoa, Florida in 1958. Ray was a graduate of Cocoa High School and Brevard Community College. He served our country in the Air Force from 1973 – 1976. Ray worked as a technician in the semiconductor department for Harris Corporation.
Survived by his sister Ellen (Pat) Murphy, brother Fred (Cindy) Schutz, niece Mary Murphy, niece Kristen (Chris) Garda and nephew Sean (Amanda) Murphy. He was preceded in death by his parents Raymond E. Schutz, Sr. and Mary A. Thomas (Schutz). The family would like to thank Palm Cottages and Vitas Hospice for the care given to Raymond.
A celebration of his life will be held at Wylie-Baxley Funeral Home 1360 N Courtenay Pkwy, Merritt Island, Florida on Saturday, December 28, 2024, 12:00 pm viewing, 1:00 pm service. Interment will follow at Brevard Memorial Park 320 Spring St, Cocoa, Florida. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of your choice in Ray’s memory.
