Dear Sandy, I am truly sorry to hear about Vern passing away. We had many good times in high school. But, as the years went by we lost contact. He was the first friend I had in high school. The runner before 10th grade started I met him at the Burbank High gym and we played a lot of basketball he was VERY good. He had a great sense of humor and always a great smile for everyone. I will always keep him in my memory and remember those good times. My deepest sympathy to you and his family. I will remember him always. Our thoughts and prayers are with you during this hard time. It doesn't seem that long ago that Vern called me regarding Sam's condition. How would I know that would be the last time I would talk to him.
Had I known, I would have told him that he added warmth and comfort just to have him as a friend and coworker for all those many years. I would have thanked him for being part of my life and wished him God's speed as he goes over the horizon that we will all go over someday.
