Richard F. Wallen

Richard ‘Dick’ Frank Wallen, 37, of Tucson, AZ, passed away Sunday, February 12, 2012 after a courageous battle with an illness. Richard was born February 7, 1975 at Kincheloe Air Force base in Chippewa County, Michigan to Sharon M. (Bond) and Frank Wallen, Jr.

Dick grew up in the Tekonsha area and attended Tekonsha schools and graduated in 1993. He played football and he played the coronet in the High School band.

Richard attended Diesel Mechanic School in Lima, OH. He enlisted in the Marines in November 1996 and served until 2004. He participated in one Mediterranean tour for 6 months. Richard spoke fondly of the Marine Corp and was proud to have served his country. He attended Corning College in New York.

Richard was married to Shannon Doan for 7 years. As an adult, Richard had lived in Sayre, PA, Jacksonville, NC, Wilcox, AZ and Tucson, AZ He worked for Tektronics from 2008 until the present.

Dick is survived by his parents, Frank and Sharon Wallen, his fiancé, Shannon Gallagher, child; Keegan Smith, sister, Angela Schroedl.

Visitation will be Thursday, February 23, 2012 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Putnam Funeral Home in Coldwater. Services will be Friday, February 24, 2012 at 11:00 A.M. at Putnam Funeral Home with Pastor Gene Cobb officiating. Interment will follow at Oakridge Cemetery in Marshall.
