Barrett Eugene Blackwell

Mr. Blackwell was a very devoted father and loving husband. He always put his wife and children first and sought to provide nothing but the best for them. He was a long-time resident of Georgia, originally hailing from Yellow Springs, OH. In his early years he was a star athlete in track and field, swimming and weightlifting. He was also a wonderful, loving son. Mr. Blackwell attended Bowling Greene State University where he obtained a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology. He obtained his Masters of Science degree in Counseling from Wright State University. Mr. Blackwell had a long, varied and successful career before retiring in 2014. Mr. Blackwell was a lifelong entrepreneur and family man. He was highly intelligent and a thoughtful, introspective, deep thinker from his youth.

Mr. Blackwell is survived by his wife Hazel (Sacares), sons Foluke, Hashim and Barrett Isidro and daughter Abigail. He is also survived by his mother Anna Clara Gee Blackwell-Hagans of Springfield, OH, brother Harold B. Blackwell Jr. of Pasadena, CA, sisters Nisa D. Blackwell-Turner of Springfield, OH and Valerie A. Blackwell-Truitt of Yellow Springs, OH and Cynthia L. Blackwell of Framingham, MA.

The memorial service for Barrett Eugene Blackwell will be held Thursday, January 25th at 3:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home , 5755 Mallory Rd., College Park GA, 30349. Mr. Blackwell will be cremated.

The family will receive friends Thursday, January 25th from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Forest Lawn Funeral Home.
