

Michael (Mike) R. Moravetz of McLean, Virginia passed on July 20, 2014 from injuries sustained in an accident at his home. He was 53 years old. Mike was raised in East Point, Georgia. He became an Eagle Scout with Troop 147 in 1975 and graduated from Russell High School in 1979.
He went on to Mercer University in Macon, Georgia, where he was a brother of the Lambda Chi Alpha fraternity, and graduated in 1984 with a BBA degree in finance. Mike then worked as an assistant vice president for Barnett Bank in Vero Beach, Florida and after moving to the Washington, D.C. area, joined commercial lender Allied Capital Corporation.
In 1986 he started Commonwealth Realty Partners to remodel and sell investment properties, and then started Elliott Oaks Remodeling to focus on interior design and remodeling. He owned and operated Elliott Oaks Remodeling with five employees, until his passing.
Mike is the third son of Raymond and Mary Moravetz, both deceased.
He is survived by his loving partner of 20 years Bruce Schopp of McLean, Virginia; loving brother David of Sandy Springs, Georgia; and loving brother Jeff and his wife Lynn of Fredericksburg, Virginia; and loving sister Laurie of Marietta, Georgia; and an aunt, Tommie Moseley of Decatur, Georgia; and nieces and nephews.
Inurnment ceremony will be at 1PM June 27, 2015 at Forest Lawn Cemetery, 5755 Mallory Rd., College Park, Georgia; with a memorial luncheon to follow at Copelands Restaurant, 3101 Cobb Parkway, Atlanta, Georgia. All are invited.
