Robbie Lee Brown was born on January 7, 1928 in Montgomery, Alabama. She was the daughter and only child of the late Mr. Anthony Postell and Mrs. Margaret Postell. On Wednesday, May 13, 2020 she peacefully entered into eternal rest and went home to be with the Lord.
Robbie moved to New York City in the early 1950's. She enrolled in the Ophelia De Vore Modeling School on 125th Street in New York City. After graduating, she participated in many fashion shows and held a number of modeling jobs which contributed to her participation in the Ebony Fashion Fair. It was during that time she met and married Mr. Joseph Mack, Sr. Together they raised four loving children, Andrew, Joseph, Jr., Herbie, and Cynthia. Many years later, Robbie married her present husband, Mr. Clinton Brown.
Robbie became a long time member of Salem United Methodist Church on Adam Clayton Powell Boulevard in Harlem, New York. There, she was an active member and served as an Usher and held several offices in the church.
In addition to modeling, Robbie worked for the City of New York in the Bureau of Childcare Welfare (BCW) for many years. After her retirement from the Bureau of Childcare Welfare, Robbie moved to Harrisburg, Pennsylvania where she and her daughter, Cynthia, ran a successful Day Care Center. Later, the family moved to College Park, Georgia where Cynthia started her own Day Care Center called Heavenly Achievers. In this new venture, Robbie continued to assist her daughter in operating and managing her business for many years.
Robbie accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior at an early age. She delighted herself in the Lord through much praise, worship, prayer and service. She became a member of The Body of Christ Church International U.S.A. (formerly The Body of Christ Christian Church) in January, 1995. She loved her Pastor, First Lady and church family. As a Woman of God, she was a delight to know and to be acquainted with. She was an appealing "Beauty Queen" from the inside out. The glow of her Christ-like light, love and joy was very captivating. Robbie also enjoyed participating in the Victorious Women for Christ Women's Ministry and the Advancing Christians Fellowship.
Robbie was preceded in death by her father, mother, and son, Herbie Mack.
She leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Mr. Clinton Brown, South Carolina; three sons, Mr. Andrew (Carolyn) Bell of New York; Mr. Joseph Mack of Georgia; Mr. Joseph Brown of South Carolina; one daughter, Prophetess Cynthia (Elder Cleveland) Hall of Georgia; six grandchildren, Margaret Hall, Davina (William) Harbor, Cleveland Hall, II, Brian Hall, Nicole Hall, all of Georgia; Alicia (Bill) Wehnar of New York; 12 great grandchildren and a host of other loving relatives and friends.
