

Visitation with the family will begin at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, August 28th at Memorial Funeral Home in College Station, with services to follow at 6:30 p.m. and a reception afterward in the same location.
Chance was born in Bryan on July 19, 1968, to Barbara and Harvey (a.k.a. Pop, or "Pops") Stavinoha. He enjoyed being in the Boy Scouts, attending the National Jamboree, Philmont and attaining the rank of Eagle Scout. He graduated from Bryan High in 1986 and Texas A&M in 1991.
He married Gina (Thirlwall) in 1993 and they had two sons, Ryan and Zane. Later, he had another son, Kaiser, with his second wife, Raynell (Doebbler).
Chance did many things over the course of his life, including traveling all over Europe with his work, gunsmithing, cooking, hunting, bike riding, being a dedicated and loving father to his sons, singing in the church choir, being a member of Mensa, and being an avid Spurs fan.
He is preceded in death by his sister, Stacie, his paternal grandparents, Olivia and Emil Stavinoha and his maternal grandfather, Arthur Lee Benton.
Chance is survived by his three sons: Ryan and Zane Stavinoha of College Station and Kaiser Stavinoha of San Antonio, his parents, Barbara and Harvey Stavinoha, his maternal "Granny", Vivian Benton of Waelder and numerous loving aunts, uncles and cousins
