A Celebration of his life will be held at 5:00 p.m. Friday, January 26 at Memorial Funeral Chapel in College Station with a reception to follow. Visitation will be one hour prior to service time.
Jim was born February 6, 1934 in Hearne to Tony and Margaret “Honey” (Loria) Campion. He proudly served our country in the U.S. Army. Jim was a longtime member of the Single Action Shooting Society and the Texas Historical Shooting Society, and was a fierce competitor in their Cowboy Action events. Jim enjoyed playing golf, exercising, running marathons, and researching family history.
Jim retired in 2002 as Director of MIS at St. Joseph Regional Health Care in Bryan. A “Rebel” at heart, he forged his own path in all things. He was of the Catholic faith.
Jim is preceded in death by his parents.
He is survived by his wife of 59 years, Dorothy Campion; daughters and son-in-law, Jodie and Bob Suntych, Donna Campion, and Sheri Campion; grandchildren, Michelle Arredondo and husband Adrian, Justin Suntych, Courtney Moulton, Tony Moulton and wife Adrienne; great-grandchildren, Jason, Peyton and Luke Arredondo; brothers, Jerry Hill and Billy Hill; and his dog, Dixie.
