He was born on April 4, 1947, in Hearne, TX to James Richard Henderson and Jewell Allen. After graduating from Westbury High School in Houston, TX, Richard attended Texas A&M University as a member of the Corps of Cadets and Texas Aggie Band and later attended the University of Houston. He began working in the sporting goods industry in Houston, TX and worked many years as a manufacturer’s representative for various sporting goods companies. Richard was currently serving as a consultant for a prominent company in the industry.
Throughout his life, Richard enjoyed spending time in the outdoors while hunting and fishing. His passion was shown by co-authoring a book titled, “The Handbook of Shotshell Reloading.”
Richard was preceded in death by his parents, James Richard “Dick” and Jewell “Judy” Henderson.
He is survived by his wife, Luann Franke Henderson; his daughter, Victoria Henderson and fiancé Alexis Arevalo; brother-in-law, Bob Franke; nephew, Jake Franke and wife Jaimie and their children Collins and Brand.
