Marilyn Wells passed away on March 9, 2021 from Breast Cancer that returned after 11 years as bone cancer. She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Newton Wells, two daughters, Teresa and husband Bob Clever of Bedias, TX and Elisa and husband Eric Vadla, Flower Mound, TX, two step children, Steve and wife Debbie Wells, Missouri City, TX. and Jennifer Hunter, Indianapolis, IN. and nine grandchildren, Robert and Samantha Clever, Ryan and Rachael Clever, Lance Vadla, Brent Vadla, Simeon Hunter, Hannah Hunter, and Miklyn Wells.
Marilyn was a loving and giving person who took great pride in her family. She was a successful business woman in accounting and computer software application. She was born in Tulsa, OK August 1, 1938 to Ruth and Jim Shinn who later divorced. Marilyn was adopted by Robert Lane who married Ruth in 1948 along with her two sisters, Diana and Pat. Ruth also adopted Robert’s two daughters, Dayna and Vicki.
Upon graduating high school in 1956, Marilyn married Richard Bellows and her two daughters were born during this marriage before divorce in 1971. In 1972 she married Newton Wells. When asked the secret of the long marriage, they replied being best friends and both being givers.
Being the oldest of 5 girls growing up, Marilyn learned to sew at an early age if she wanted new clothes. She developed a passion for sewing and became an expert seamstress, making her own clothes as well as her daughters. Later with her computer skills, she mastered embroidery via computerized machine. She shared her passion for sewing by teaching a class in use of a serger machine at Sew Vac City for a few years before retiring last year.
The family would love to hug all of you that show your love and prayers, but now is not the time. They will hold on dearly to your thoughts and prayers. Mask and social distances are required during the service, if this is not possible they would appreciate your prayers from home. The family welcomes casual dress for her Memorial Service.
