Addie was born in Woodsboro, Texas, on October 24, 1934. She was a graduate of Refugio High School, Refugio, Texas, and Baylor University. She had an effective and long-term Christian ministry of writing, teaching, and conference planning. She served on local, state, and national boards, including the national board of Concerned Women for America. Addie was especially effective in ministry to singles for decades.
Addie was married to Bill Anderson on December 22, 1956. The Andersons have four children – Mark Anderson, Karen May, Gaye Hasha, and Hazel Hall – 15 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren. She is survived by her loving sister, Barbie Williams.
