Mrs. Alyssa DaNell Horder

She will always be remembered as a loving wife, sister, friend, to all that knew and loved her. She was born on August 14th, 1988 in Bedford, Texas to Marian Kauffman and Mitchell Smith. Alyssa was full of life and she loved everything with her whole heart.

When she fell in love with something, no matter what it was, she loved hard. She met her beloved husband Luke in 2013 and they married on June 4, 2016 during a beautiful ceremony in Grapevine, Texas. They built a life together bound by a strong love and devotion to each other. Alyssa and Luke worked side by side establishing a successful business in Hurst. Their shared sense of adventure and sharing new experiences took them across the globe.

Alyssa enjoyed expressing her creativity, unique style, and love of life through her many art projects, music, writings, and remodeling their home. She was a wonderful dog mom to Toby, Ava Kurby, and Rommell. She earned her bachelor’s degree from the University of North Texas and was dedicated to taking care of those around her.

Alyssa is survived by husband, Luke Horder of Hurst, TX; Mother and Stepfather, Marian and Jeff Kauffman of Burleson, TX; Father and Stepmother, Mitchell and Laura Smith of Mabank, TX; Sister and Brother-in-law, Amber and Casey Townsend and niece and nephew, Michaela and Cason Townsend of Kaufman, TX; Brother, Austin Silva-Smith of Hurst, TX; Brother and sister-in-law, Jake and Alex Kauffman of Fort Worth, TX; Brother, Jared Orhmundt of Wichita Falls, TX, Brother, Cullen Orhmundt of Midlothian, TX; Grandparents, Francine and Jim Silva of May, TX and Barbara and Richard Smith of Wimberly, TX; Mother-in-law and father-in-law Marsha and Tim Cummins of Hurst, TX; Mother-in-law and father-in-law Erich and Teresa Horder of Hurst, TX; Brother-in-law Michael Horder and spouse Lilia Horder of Washington D.C.; Sister-in-law Erica Wright and spouse Joe Wright of Troup, TX; Sister-in-law Harmony Davis-Horder of Hurst, TX; and many aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends.

She was preceded in death by her brother Derek Michael Smith.

The visitation will be held from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, September 8th at Bluebonnet Hills funeral home in Colleyville, TX. Due to COVID-19 restrictions, the Funeral Service will be a private ceremony with immediate family on Wednesday, September 9th at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel. There will be a live stream of the service at 10 o’clock a.m. Family and friends are invited to a celebration lunch in Alyssa’s honor immediately following the service at the clubhouse at Southern Oaks Golf & Tennis Club. The address for the clubhouse is 13765 Southern Oaks Dr. Burleson, TX 76028.
