Barbara Lindsey Humphreys

Barbara was married to G.E. (Zeke) Lindsey in 1948 and they were married 45 years before he passed away. They raised four sons and one daughter together. As a fulltime homemaker, Barbara loved and cared for her children faithfully and they still enjoy telling favorite stories of their childhood. Barbara, Zeke, and their children were active members of Tarrant Road Baptist Church where Zeke was a deacon and Barbara taught preschoolers in Sunday School. After moving to North Richland Hills, they became members of Davis Blvd Baptist Church where Barbara sang in the choir and Zeke worked with the Royal Ambassador organization.

Barbara married Rev. Ewell Humphreys at Davis Blvd. Baptist Church in 1996 and joined him in ministry for the next 18 years of her life. She enjoyed her role as a pastor’s wife at Ryanwood Baptist Church as well as traveling with Ewell to various revivals and conventions. Barbara and Ewell served together at Davis Blvd. Baptist Church where Ewell is Pastor Emeritus. Barbara was a valued helpmate to Ewell throughout their marriage.

Barbara loved Jesus Christ so much that her last audible words were, “Jesus loves me this I know, for the Bible tells me so.”

Survivors: Husband, Ewell Humphreys; her children, Joe Lindsey (Renee), Charlie Lindsey (Jeanie), Mike Lindsey (Vicki), Carol Gilstrap, and Craig Lindsey (Maria). Stepson, Johnny Humphreys (Margaret); 17 grandchildren and 16 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her mother, Edwina Dismukes, and husband Zeke Lindsey.

Services: Visitation will be Wednesday, March 25, 6-8PM, at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home. Service will be Thursday, March 26, 10AM, at Davis Blvd. Baptist Church, 5408 Davis Blvd., North Richland Hills, Texas 76180
