Barbara Jane Wacker

Celebration of Life will be November 15, 2023 from 2:00PM to 4:00PM at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, Texas 76034.

Barbara was born May 21st, 1930 in St. Louis MO to Sophie Leb Simon & Lawrence Leb.

She met the love her life, Jim Wacker on a blind date while he was serving the Marines. On August 18th, 1951 they were united in a beautiful Catholic Ceremony and together they shared 63 years of marriage. They moved to North Richland Hills in 1963 where they resided for their remaining years raising their family.

Her main passions in life were her family and gardening. She had a knack for bringing dying plants back to life and she knew the names of every plant and every flower. She could spend hours working in her garden or just admiring them from afar and she always stopped to smell the roses. She views her family with the same nurturing values as her garden. Her grandchildren & great Grandchildren always brought a smile to her face. She was quick to laugh and enjoyed any get together with family and friends. She especially enjoyed meeting up with the Breakfast Club in later years each morning.

Barbara was preceded in death by her husband Jim, sister Ann Baranovich and son-in-law Joe.

Barbara is survived by her daughters Bobbie Ann Williamson; Denise Wacker; Gail & husband Doug Thomas; Mary Ellen Cole, son Larry Wacker and wife Rita; 7 grandchildren; 8 great grandchildren; sister Fran and Steve Anderson, brother Frank and Nooey Simon, numerous nieces and nephews.

Barbara's memory will forever live on in the hearts of her surviving loved ones.

In Lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to North Texas Humane Society in her name.
