

Bennie Williams Wasson of Mexico, Missouri passed away, leaving behind a legacy of service, creativity and devotion to family.
Born in Mexico, Missouri Bennie proudly served his country in the United States Navy as a radar man aboard the USS Intrepid, embodying, honor duty and perseverance his military service shaped his character and instilled in him a lifelong commitment to excellence.
Bennie was a man of extraordinary talents and accomplishments. A gifted musician he wrote more than 150 songs, sharing his passion for music with the world. He also published two books along with dozens of other works, leaving behind a rich literary legacy. His creativity was matched by his entrepreneurial spirit: Bennie was a successful district manager for the combine division of Allis-Chalmers. He then went on to established his own business importing farming equipment from Canada, Romania and Italy, earning respect as a dedicated and hard-working businessman.
His curiosity and thirst for knowledge carried him across the globe as a world traveler, always eager to learn, explore, and experience new cultures.
Above all, Bennie was a devoted family man. He shared 68 years of marriage with the love of his life, Betty Lou, a partnership marked by deep affection, strength, and unwavering devotion. Together they built a family and a life filled with love. Bennie is survived by his three sons: Ben Jr., Bryan Lee, Bradley Dean, and by six beloved grandchildren: Courtney, Ben III, Nathaniel, Josh, Alex, and Jeremiah. He also poured endless love into his great grandchildren; Madison, Kinley, RaeLynn, and Riali, who brought him immense joy and pride.
Bennie's life was a testament to resilience, creativity and love. He will be remembered not only for his many accomplishments, but for the kindness, wisdom, and inspiration he shared with all who knew him. His memory will live on in the hearts of his family and friends forever.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Tunnel to Towers foundation or the Wounded Warrior Project, honoring Bennie’s lifelong respect for service and sacrifice.
Visitation will be held at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, located at 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, on December 18, 2025, from 4:00 pm to 6:00 pm.
The funeral service will take place at an external service location, 2330 Cheyenne St, Irving, TX 75062, on December 19, 2025, from 11:30 am to 12:30 pm.
Committal will occur at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034, on December 19, 2025, from 1:00 pm to 1:30 pm.
