

Celebration of life: 11 a.m. Wednesday at Shady Oaks Baptist Church in Hurst. Interment: Bluebonnet Hills Memorial Park, Colleyville. Visitation: Family and friends are cordially invited 6 to 8 p.m. Tuesday in Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home Chapel in Colleyville.
Memorials: Donations may be made in memory of Buel to Shady Oaks Baptist Church with NEED ministry.
Buel was born Feb. 22, 1930, in Cisco to Mancil and Gladys Chancellor. He worked 42 years, starting with the Katy Railroad in Cisco. As his career progressed, he moved to Fort Worth where he retired from Burlington Northern Santa Fe Railroad in 1992.
Buel's faith in Christ and love for his church, Shady Oaks Baptist, was evident by his faithful service as deacon, greeter, Sunday school teacher, weekend kids volunteer and helper to his fellow church family members. In addition, Buel actively volunteered at Northeast Emergency Distribution (NEED), Baptist Men of Texas Disaster Relief Team and Habitat for Humanity.
Buel was preceded in death by his wife, Mary Chancellor; parents, Mancil and Gladys Chancellor; brother, Norman Chancellor; sister, Billie Cook; and granddaughter, Laurie Champlin.
Survivors: He will be missed by his sister, Mary Thomas; stepchildren, Don Champlin and wife, Karen, Allen Champlin and Karon Johnston and husband, Nolan; grandchildren, Rebecca Champlin and Benjamin Johnston; great-grandchild, Hunter Firouzi; and nieces, nephews and friends.
