Burt began his career as a journeyman electrician. His determination and work ethic over the years, allowed him to advance to several key executive operational roles within the electrical construction industry in Texas. Many that knew him credit their own successful careers as a result of his leadership, mentorship and friendship.
Anyone that was around him for any length of time, knew how important family was to him. It was not uncommon for him to pull out his phone and share either the latest travel pictures or those of his family. He was called “GP” by his granddaughters and loved the time he got to spend with them – even if it meant playing with dolls or getting covered up with stuffed animals.
Burt had a passion for riding his Harley Davidson motorcycles and getting to spend time on his boat at the lake with family/friends. He loved his Dallas Cowboys, going to sporting events and attending live concerts (especially in different cities). His favorite chore was to do laundry and if you stayed at his house your dirty clothes would disappear during the night and you'd wake up to them being cleaned and folded. When it came to his cats, Clark and Sienna, he was a big softie and went out of his way to feed them their special treat at 4am, as well as making sure their blanket was clean and smelled like Downy. One of his best qualities was that he was always the funniest guy in the room and loved to tease his family and friends.
Burt is survived by his wife, Kristi; daughter Jackie Wood, husband Jake and granddaughter Payton; son Chris Ingram; step-son Cameron Livingston, wife Makenzie and granddaughter Hayden; step-daughters Lauren Livingston and Brittany Livingston; mother Beth Ingram; sister and brother-in-law Bonnie and Bill Ory; nephew Taylor Ory, wife Jessica and great-nephew Jason; niece CPT Avery Ory.
Burt requested there be no Memorial Service held in his memory. The family asks in lieu of flowers that donations be made in his name to The Harbor Club in Fort Worth, TX or the Recovery Resource Council in Fort Worth, TX.
