Charles A. Hildreth passed away on Wednesday Oct. 28, 2015 at Meadwoods Assisted Living in Grapevine, TX. Charles was 88 years old and died from complications of pancreatic cancer. He was born November 13, 1926 in Lincoln IL to Dr. Charles E. Hildreth and Margaret Stumpf Hildreth of Mt. Pulaski IL. He married Janet Louann Coffman on August 8, 1954, he received his BA in education from Carthage College, and his MA in education from Illinois State Normal University. Charles taught educable mentally handicapped students for 27 years at Bloomington High School in Bloomington IL. He was very active in the BEA, investing in the stock market, reading books on tape and extensive traveling. He and Janet took many trips to Disney World in Florida, had been to all the states except Alaska, traveled to Europe and Cuba. Surviving him are his three children, Todd Alan Hildreth of Valmeyer IL, Pamela Ann Hildreth Claeys of Grapevine TX, and Marsha Lynn Hildreth Schellenberg of Normal IL, ten grandchildren, his girlfrend Laytella Smith and his sister Shirley Hildreth Van Hook. A memorial service will be held at 9am at East Lawn Funeral Home, 1102 Airport Rd, Bloomington IL, funeral will be at 10am with the interment following.
