Charles was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather. Charles was born in La Harpe, IL to Mark and Lula Voan. He grew up in Cleveland and Buffalo, TX and graduated from Buffalo High School. Charles worked as a machinist for General Dynamics and later as a security officer for Allied Barton. He was a devout Christian and loved the Lord with all of his heart. He was a member of Christ Gospel Church of Dallas, in Mesquite, TX. Charles enjoyed the outdoors, spending time with his family, spreading the love of Christ and going fishing. His favorite place to go fishing was in Port Aransas, TX, where the family spent many vacations together. His greatest attribute was that he never met a stranger. He enjoyed joking around and making people laugh.
Charles is survived by: Wife of 46 years, Kathryn Gayle Voan; Sons Philip Voan and wife Jennifer; Bryan Voan; Grandchildren Jordan Clark; Madison Corley; and numerous other family members. Preceded in death: grandson Jared Levi Voan, parents Mark and Lula Voan, and other family members.
