Dorothy Toliver Posey

Dorothy L. Posey, age 80, of Bedford, Texas entered eternal rest on January 10, 2023, with her daughter by her side. She was born on October 9, 1942, to Jess and Margaret Toliver of Wichita, Kansas. She was married to Willie J. Posey on August 13, 1976.

After a change from aircraft assembly work to clerical, Dorothy excepted a position at the City of Colleyville where she retired after 20 years of service.

An animal advocate, Dorothy was known for her rescue of cats and love for all animals. She loved her music, enjoyed traveling, was a diehard Kansas City Chiefs fan and a Dallas Stars nut.

Dorothy was a loving wife, sister, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was brought the most joy while spending time with her family. She will always be remembered for her kindness to friends and unconditional love and devotion she had to her family.

Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband: Willie J. Posey; father: Jess B. Toliver; mother: Margaret M. Toliver; sister: Marlene Fajardo and cousin: James Lemon.

Left to cherish her memories is her sister: Norma Carter; son: Tim Mathis; daughter: Margaret Mathis; grandchildren: Jessica Mathis and Mason Mathis; great-grandchildren: Addielynn Mathis, Marissa Raphael and Liam Mathis and numerous nephews and nieces.

Graveside Service will be held on Tuesday, January 17, 2023, 12:00 at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home & Memorial Park, 5725 Colleyville Blvd, Colleyville, TX 76034.
