Family and friends will celebrate the life of Elise Adelle Cerami during a funeral mass at Good Shepard Catholic Church in Colleyville, Texas on Saturday, June 25, 2016, at 10:00 a.m. The visitation and wake will be held Friday, June 24, from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Bluebonnet Hills Funeral Home in Colleyville. A memorial service is also planned for students on Thursday, June 23, from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at the Carroll Senior High School main auditorium.
An amazingly smart and articulate young girl with a zest for life, Elise Adelle passed away on Monday, June 20, while pursuing her passion of swimming. She was an elite, competitive swimmer with the North Texas Natadores swim team. With persistence and determination, Elise recently earned a varsity spot on the Southlake-Carroll team and looked forward to swimming for Coach Kevin Murphy as a freshman this fall. She had been swimming competitively since the age of seven and often told friends and family that “she was meant to be in the water, not on land.” Elise had high hopes of earning a college scholarship and was well on her way.
Elise was also a gifted honors student and pursued advanced coursework in all of her studies. She was a great friend to many and a supportive and patient big sister to her brother, Bryce. Fueled by the challenge of a good math problem, and an avid reader, Elise had an ongoing bet with her mother Lori - for every two seconds she shaved off of her swim time, Lori would buy her a book. By latest count, her mother owed her a library.
Like many teenage girls, her interests were varied and the list was long. Elise loved her new Weimaraner puppy, Thibodeaux (Thibs) and the Netflix series “Supernaturals.” She loved listening to music, especially 5 Seconds of Summer and hanging out with friends. Her favorite color was black, “because it was made up of all other colors.” However, Elise recently informed friends that she was “beginning a purple phase.”
Born and raised in north Texas, with roots in south Louisiana, Elise Adelle will be immeasurably missed by her parents, David and Lori Cerami and brother Bryce of Southlake; grandparents John and Lynn Cerami of North Richland Hills, Texas, Polly Broussard and Bob Wardlaw of Lafayette, Louisiana and Paul and Ann Broussard of Erath, Louisiana; aunts and uncles Paul Cerami, Suzanne and Greg Levesque, Joey Boutin John Boutin, Travis Broussard, Marty Broussard, Corey Broussard, and Bannie Settle; and cousins Amanda Cerami, Allyson Cerami, Hayley Benoit, Jerod Boutin, Elizabeth Boutin, Joel Boutin, Tina Boutin, Kyle Boutin, Madi Boutin, Jackson Benoit and Jadence Marquez.
